Virtual CFO, Finance & Credit

Financial leadership for the business that is not yet ready for a full-time CFO.

Overview

About this practice area.

Growing businesses need more than compliance — they need numbers they can steer by. The firm's Virtual CFO engagements bring monthly MIS, budgeting, cash-flow discipline, and compliance oversight on retainer; alongside, the firm prepares CMA data and detailed project reports that stand up to a banker's scrutiny and supports the credit process through to sanction.

01

Numbers to steer by

MIS and variance analysis on a fixed rhythm — management decisions on data, not instinct.

02

Banker-grade

CMA data and projections where every growth figure has a stated, defensible basis.

03

On retainer

CFO-level oversight at a fraction of a CFO-level salary, scaled to the business.

What We Cover

Scope, explained — with documents required.

01

Virtual CFO Services

+

What is this

A retained engagement that gives a growing business the financial leadership of a CFO without a full-time hire — periodic MIS and management reporting, budgeting and variance analysis, cash-flow and working-capital monitoring, compliance oversight across tax and corporate law, pricing and profitability reviews, and finance support for fundraising or bank facilities. Structured monthly or quarterly to suit the size of the business.

Documents generally required

  1. Latest financial statements and current year's books / trial balance
  2. Access to accounting software (Tally / Zoho / QuickBooks, etc.)
  3. Existing MIS or reporting formats, if any
  4. Bank facility sanction letters and loan statements
  5. Statutory registration details (GST, TDS, PF/ESI, ROC)
  6. Organisation chart and a brief on the accounts team in place
Note: Virtual CFO work begins with a one-time review of books and compliance health — the first month typically settles the reporting rhythm, formats, and calendar for everything that follows.
Documents may vary with the facts of each case. This information is general in nature and does not constitute professional advice.
02

CMA Data

+

What is this

Preparation of Credit Monitoring Arrangement (CMA) data in the format prescribed by banks — operating statements, analysis of balance sheets, fund-flow, working-capital assessment (MPBF), and ratio analysis — for new limits, renewals, and enhancements.

Documents generally required

  1. Audited financial statements for the last 2–3 years
  2. Provisional financials for the current year
  3. Projections / business plan assumptions for the next 2–5 years
  4. Sanction letters of existing credit facilities
  5. Latest stock statement and debtors ageing
  6. Order book / contracts in hand, where relevant
Note: Projections must be defensible — bankers test the assumptions, so each growth figure is tied to a stated basis.

03

Project Finance & Reports

+

What is this

Preparation of detailed project reports (DPR) and financial models for term loans and project funding — cost of project, means of finance, projected profitability, DSCR and break-even analysis, and support through bank queries till sanction.

Documents generally required

  1. Promoter profile, KYC, and net-worth statements
  2. Quotations / estimates for machinery, civil work, and other project costs
  3. Land / premises documents (ownership or lease)
  4. Existing business financials, if any
  5. Basis for revenue projections (capacity, pricing, market tie-ups)
  6. Details of proposed margin / promoter contribution
Note: A project report is judged on its weakest assumption — realistic numbers carry more weight with lenders than ambitious ones.
Documents may vary with the facts of each case. This information is general in nature and does not constitute professional advice.
How We Work

Three entries to every engagement.

01

Understand & scope

A short discussion to understand the facts, the records available, and the outcome required — followed by a clear scope.

02

Execute with diligence

Work performed against a checklist and a calendar — documents verified, positions reasoned, drafts reviewed before anything is filed or signed.

03

Report & stand by it

Deliverables explained in plain terms, records handed over in order, and the firm available for whatever follows — queries, notices, or next steps.
